CHAPTER ONE

Sun poured through the jungle canopy, washing the humid floor with warm light. The recent drizzle left huge, plastic leaves dripping wet, and the earthy soil sunken, sending a loamy scent through the forest. 

Tree Frogs perched atop thick roots entwining ancient trees, and giant, filthy rats dwindled behind ferns and between twisted trunks.
